Brief Overview

The iTaste VV 3.0 (Battery Only) is a substantial upgrade of the original iTaste VV 3.0 the iTaste VV 3.0 has substantial improvements in both appearance and function. USB Power output, passthrough, huge battery, Innokin thought of everything!

Using Your VV 3.0

A:The VV 3.0 offers a lot of great features. From Variable Voltage and Wattage, to the 510 threading, and USB power-out, you’re ready to go out of the box, and upgrading in the future is a snap! Please refer to the full instructions located on the ‘User Guide’ tab, but here is a quick rundown on using the VV 3.0:

Charge the VV 3.0 – with the included charger, it could take a few hours the first time as the 2600mAh battery is a bit large, but subsequent charges should not take longer than an hour or so.

Attach a cartomizer – Out of the Box the VV is just a Battery, and needs to have an 510 threaded atomizer tank attached for operation.

Power up and draw – There is a three click safety switch on the VV 3.0, press the button three times to unlock, the LED should flash when you do so. (reverse process to lock.)

The iTaste VV 3.0 can automatically read any 510 atomizer you attach and adjust its power output accordingly, so if you don’t want to even know anything about variable voltage(VV), and variable wattage(VW)then just press the button and use! If you want to add a new cartomizer in the future, as long as it has 510 threading, you are good to go!

Use until you have had your fill, or the ten-second shut off turns the atomizer off.

Do not put aromatic blends or solid concentrates that melt into the atomizer included with the the VV 3.0. Other cartomizers and tanks that are designed for 510 threading.

A: The charger is rated from 100v to 240v, but you may need an outlet adapter for locations outside of North America.

A: The atomizer coil is nickel/aluminum-alloy, the wick is fiberglass, the tank on the iClear 30b is plastic, the body is made of steel and aluminum.
A: The VV 3.0 has a nickel/aluminum-alloy atomizer coil that surrounds a fiberglass wick.
A: Liquids love high temperatures, so you should not have an overheating issue!
A: Is best to not fill the tank past the level of the center tube. 2/3 full should be just fine. The VV 3.0 was designed to hold 1.6ml.
A: Yes, after ten seconds of use, the VV 3.0 will power off.

As a general safety rule, do not leave the VV 3.0 unattended while powered on.

A: The VV 3.0 atomizers are replaceable, and also rebuildable. You can replace them very easily by disconnecting the tank from the battery, and replace with any 510 threaded fresh tank.
A: The battery is an Li-Ion 2600mAh barrel battery. The housing has 510, and eGo threads.
A: The VV 3.0 comes with an AC adapter with full USB charging capability.
A: When the VV 3.0 Battery is in need of a charge, the power button will flash RED, and vapor production will stop.

At this time, remove the cartomizer and connect it to the AC adapter.

Once the red LED light turns green, the VV 3.0 Battery has been fully charged.

A: Allow 3-4 hours charging time for the first 3-4 cycles. Then, it should only take about one hour to charge, depending on your charging source.

Cleaning & Maintenance

A: Any liquid that may have spilled out or collected on the body of your VV 3.0 can be removed with a warm damp cloth.

If you have noticed that even a single drop of moisture exists on the exterior of the VV 3.0, remove the tank from the Unit and check the threading areas and make sure it is free of moisture & debris.

Within the atomizer of your VV 3.0 iClear 30b, the coil works to clean itself by burning off any residue that comes in contact with it. We don’t recommend using any type of liquid cleaning agent in the VV 3.0 tank, as doing so could cause it to malfunction. If you are having issues with the atomizer, namely a distinct change in aroma, please replace it. Atomizers do not last more than 4-5 weeks with normal use. Your experience will vary.

The mouthpiece can be soaked in isopropyl alcohol until the buildup dissolves. Do not clean the rubber or silicone o-rings with alcohol, as it could damage the rubber. Remove o-ring with a non-sharp tool(toothpicks work well) then use warm soap and water to clean.

A: If you are having issues with the atomizer, namely a distinct change in aroma, please replace. Atomizers do not last more than 4-5 weeks with normal use. Your experience will vary.
Monitor and replace atomizer as needed. Check your vape each time you use it, it will tell you how often it needs to be cleaned.
A: Cleaning the atomizer is not recommended, replace as needed.

Make sure you don’t expose the atomizer or battery to any cleaning liquids whatsoever. If you need to clean the outside of the VV 3.0, use a warm damp cloth. If the VV 3.0 gets wet in any way, allow to dry in the sun or a warm dry area until COMPLETELY DRY. Attempting to use the VV 3.0 if wet will cause serious damage to the unit.

A: The atomizer should be replaced as needed on the VV 3.0. Over time, even the purest liquids will allow buildup to collect on the Atomizer coil; replace as needed.

Getting the Most Out of Your VV 3.0

  • Never leave a VV 3.0 in a hot car. Ever.
  • Allowing the VV 3.0 to freeze can damage the atomizer. Avoid temperatures below 40 degrees.
  • Overloading more than 3ml will cause liquid to enter the center tube, avoid this at all costs. If this occurs, remove tank from VV 3.0 Body, empty of liquid, remove atomizer and clear center tube of liquid before putting everything back together.

Once you start talking about Variable Voltage(VV) or Variable Wattage(VW), you have entered into the world of Advanced Personal Devices(APV). Most entry level or starter eCigs have a battery / atomizer combination that are matched up based on the batteries power output and the atomizers resistance. The battery send an amount of power that heats the coil sufficiently, without over- or under-heating.

Think of it in everyday terms. The wiring system in your home (and the appliances and devices connected to it) are rated for a specific level of power. The power company, knowing exactly what your maximum power needs are, send a certain level of power. Now lets say for example that lightning strikes the home wiring system, sending more power than the wiring and devices can handle – they will overheat, short circuit, anything attached to them. Often the wires will heat up so intensely from this power overload, the structure is converted to carbon. Under normal everyday circumstances, the power company sends you only the amount of power you can safely use. Not too little, not too much, and everything works perfectly!

With eCigs, its a very similar situation. Simply put, you have a battery that outputs power, and an atomizer coil that receives it. When you send just the right amount of power, the coils heats up to the perfect temps for liquids, and they vaporize cleanly. Send too little power to the coil, and it won’t get hot enough. Send too much power, and the coil can cause undesirable results.

But that’s just the start. Unlike in the home where all appliances are fed the exact same amount of 110v(or 220v), atomizer coils have a huge range of power needs. The atomizer coils are often made of nichrome, stainless steel, or titanium, all with different resistance levels. And different thickness’ of each wire will also have different resistances. In addition, the length and tightness of the loops of the coils will create different resistances. Many factors will create different resistances.

The problem is that there are many different batteries, who output many different levels of power, and on top of that, there are so many different kinds of coils, and therefore many different resistances.

Why should you even care? Its at this point that many people decide whether they want or need this much control, and whether or not a simple starter kit is perfect for them. For some, it is. For others, its all about control. Lets say that your starter kit is working fine for you, but you wish…it created a slightly thicker vapor. Or… a slightly thinner vapor. Or lets say you have multiple atomizers, each with their own different flavor, and resistance levels. Another possibility is that some liquids taste better on lower temperatures, others at high. Being able to fully control this is essential for those seeking the perfect vapor for their needs.

Enter Variable Voltage and Variable Wattage.

It no longer matters what the resistance of the atomizer is, as a VV or VW can automatically adjust itself to send just the right amount of power to the coil. This prolongs coil life, improves the aroma, and gives you full control over the vapor density. But what’s the difference between the two?

Variable Voltage – Think of this as an car with an automatic transmission – lets you set your device’s voltage output to the optimum voltage range your cartomizer can handle. For example, if you have a 1.8 ohm cartomizer, you can set the voltage to anywhere between 3.0 to 3.7 volts. If you have a 2.4 ohm cartomizer, you can set the voltage to between 4.0 to 4.5 volts. Adjusting the voltage up or down will maximize the aroma intensity and vapor production of your device.

Variable wattage – on the other hand, allows you to set the power output of your device to from 3 watts to 15 watts. Once your preferred power output is set, the microprocessor will maintain that power output regardless of the cartomizer resistance or ohm.

VV 3.0 Maintenance

Cleaning the VV 3.0 couldn’t be easier. Use the atomizer until the aroma suddenly changes, then replace or rebuild.

Atomizers will last 4-5 weeks with normal use; your experience will vary.

The inside of the mouthpiece will take on the most buildup, soak it in warm soapy water, or isopropyl alcohol and clean with a cotton swab if needed. Dry completely before re-using.

If any liquid has made it onto the body of the VV 3.0, wipe off with a warm damp cloth.

Try these Solutions to common issues:

A: Check that the batteries are fully charged, and that all connections are solid and tight. If you have fully charged batteries, and no light on the button when you press it, then something is wrong with the VV 3.0 Unit.

If you are getting a light around the button, but no vapor production, remove the atomizer and check for moisture or debris at the connection. If its good to go, replace the atomizer and see if you have vapor production. The only three things that can be faulty are the battery, the switch, or the atomizer. It should be easy to isolate the issue.

A: Make sure your VV 3.0 is fully charged, and the atomizer coil is fully seated and loaded properly(not overloaded).

If you are getting a light around the button, but no vapor production, remove the atomizer and check for moisture or debris at the connection. If its good to go, replace the atomizer and see if you have vapor production. The only three things that can be faulty are the battery, the switch, or the atomizer. It should be easy to isolate the issue.

A: The atomizers will last 4-5 weeks with normal use, although your experience will vary. Replace your atomizer when you feel it needs it. A change in aroma will be your first indicator the atomizer has died.
