Brief Overview

The Firefly heats instantly at the touch of a button, so it’s always ready when you are with no waiting. It features the most advanced vaporization technology available. The Firefly’s dynamic convection heating technology utilizes sophisticated software that raises the vapor temperature from 100 °F to 400 °F over the course of a smooth 10 seconds. Enjoy all the flavors and active components the moment they are vaporized.

See User Guides Tab below for full usage information.

Intro to the Firefly Vaporizer

Using Your Firefly

A: Full instructions are included in the ‘User Guide’ tab to the left, but the Firefly is simple to use: With a charged battery, load the heating chamber, replace the lid, turn the Firefly on, press the heating button, and draw. The better you get to know your Firefly, the more you will get out of it.

See User Guides tab and also Tips and Tricks tab to the left for full usage information.

A: The Firefly excels with medium to coarse ground blends. Breaking your blends up with your fingers is preferable to using a grinder, which could grind your blend too finely for the Firefly.
A: Your blend heats only when you want it to, conserving your material. It takes ten seconds from the moment you press the button for the heat to reach its max temp of 400°F, allowing you to extract flavor at every point along the way. on the flip-side, the instant you stop drawing and release the button, your blends stop heating and immediately begin cooling down.
A: Simply press and hold the power button as you draw. The longer you draw, the higher the temperature and the richer the vapor. Enjoy perfect vapor every time, based on what feels best to you.
A: The Firefly is the first true portable convection vaporizer. Convection heating produces the highest quality vapor by pre-heating the air before it passes through the material, which is the optimal method of extracting the most flavors and active ingredients. Conduction heating heats the material through direct contact with the edges of the heating chamber, which often results in uneven and incomplete vapor. Conduction also requires a long time for the heating surface to reach its operational temperature, and heats your material continuously whether or not you are inhaling, which creates waste.
A: The Firefly prefers more coarsely ground materials, it was not designed for finer grinds. Breaking up your blends by hand is pefectly acceptable. Avoid loading the chamber tightly.
A: The Firefly was designed for aromatic blends that have been ground evenly, but can be used with concentrates with concentrate pads.
A: The concentrate pads for the Firefly are easy to use. To insert, press firmly around the edges of the mesh pad to ensure that it is seated in the bottom of the chamber. The pad should not fall out if the Firefly is held upside down.

The mesh pad may need a slight pre-heat before it can vaporize your concentrate. Once the pad is seated, place 1-2 drops of your liquid or a medium amount of your concentrate on the center of the pad. Make sure you do not overload it!

To pre-heat, hold the heater button down while taking a few small repetitive draws until you are able to see visible vapor. After this initial heating, go ahead and use as normal.

To remove the concentrate pads, use one of the picks in the cleaning kit to pry up the edges of the pad. Simple!

A: The included charger is rated to 240v, but you might need a plug adapter.
A: The Firefly has the broadest temperature range of any portable vaporizer, spanning from room temperature up to 400°F, all within a single draw. This means you enjoy each distinct flavor and active ingredients as the temperature continues to climb. The Firefly heats to a computer-controlled maximum of 400°F (200°C).
A: The Firefly uses only the finest component materials. The heating chamber is borosilicate glass, the vapor path is stainless steel, (The electronics are separated from the air intake.
A: The heating element is made of a proprietary super-alloy manufactured in the USA. Unlike cheap Nichrome elements used in most vaporizers, it does not break down under repeated heat cycling.

What’s A superalloy? From Wikipedia: A superalloy, or high-performance alloy, is an alloy that exhibits excellent mechanical strength and resistance to creep (tendency for solids to slowly move or deform under stress) at high temperatures; good surface stability; and corrosion and oxidation resistance.

A: With proper use, the firefly should never over-heat your materials.
A: The heating chamber should be loosely filled to the top of the glass (but not over). A loose fill allows for excellent airflow over all of your material.

It’s important that no material be present between the chassis and lid to ensure good sealing and optimum vapor.

A: For best results, turn the material in the heating chamber after every 5 draws.
A: Be mindful of the power switch, make sure the Firefly is turned off when not in use. Turning the power switch on does not engage the heater, which is only engaged when pressing the heat button. When you press the heating button, the heater will run from 30-45 seconds, and turn itself off. The green light will stop flashing and turn solid green.

As a general safety rule, do not leave the Firefly unattended while powered on.

A: The actual size is .544in, and are available in the Firefly cleaning kit.
A: A fully-loaded heating chamber typically delivers about 10 draws before the chamber needs to be changed. However this is very dependent on the material, usage pattern, and personal taste, so experiment and decide what’s best for you.
A: The Firefly comes with a Li-Ion 7.4V 750mAh capacity battery, which is replaceable and we highly recommend having a second battery around.
A: The Firefly was designed to have an easily replaceable battery. We highly recommend having a second battery around so you never miss that ‘moment’.
A: Yes. The Firefly was designed to have an easily replaceable battery. We highly recommend having a second battery around so you never miss that ‘moment’.
A: A fully-charged battery can deliver up to 50 instant draws in a row. Your experience may vary based on your usage and normal aging of battery capacity.
A: Cold or freezing weather makes your battery deplete faster than normal, so please try and keep it warm, such as an interior pocket of your coat.
A: The Firefly can charge as quick as 45 minutes. Different climates and temperatures will effect this slightly.
A: The Firefly can only be used when it is unplugged from the charger. However, with an extra battery and external charger, you can easily and quickly swap in a new battery.
A: Yes, the battery has been certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories).

Cleaning & Maintenance

A: Always unplug the vaporizer from the electrical outlet and allow to cool COMPLETELY before cleaning, 30 minutes should be sufficient.

Always make sure your vaporizer is COMPLETELY dry before plugging it back in to charge.

Do not attempt any internal or external repairs to your unit as doing so may cause fatal injury – or worse – void your warranty! (Please contact us if you feel something is wrong with your vaporizer.)

Please see the cleaning guide on the ‘User Guides’ tab for full cleaning details.

A: Check your airpath, mouthpiece and heating chamber often. When you see any build-up occur, its time to clean. Your Firefly will let you know when its time to clean!
A: With the lid removed, use the Firefly cleaning kit, (included with Firefly Purchase or available separately) or isopropyl alcohol to clean the exposed air path. Use cotton swabs or cloth or microfiber, never bring the chassis near any liquids or vice versa.
A: Check the mouthpiece, heating chamber, and airpath under the lid. These areas will incur the most build-up.
A: If you have lost or damaged your top lid, battery cover, screen, battery, or charger, they are all available here. Need an external or car charger? Extra batteries? We’ve got you covered.
A: To make sure you do not damage your Firefly in any way, we definitely recommend the Firefly cleaning kit) or in a pinch, isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab to clean the exposed air path or other elements. Never bring any liquids near the Firefly or vice versa.
A: Once the battery is charged, remove it from the the charger. It MAY deplete the battery over time if you leave it on longer than necessary. (Firefly does not
recommend leaving the battery on the charger after it has finished charging.
A: Yes, unlike most other vaporizers, the battery in the Firefly can be replaced in seconds. With an additional battery and external charger you can always have another power source ready, and never have to wait.

Getting the Most Out of Your Firefly

  • The Firefly is a vaporizer that you must get to know. This is a great thing! It allows you to dial in the Firefly for your own vaping needs. You can alter the thickness of the vapors to suit you personal style by playing with variables like grind consistency, grind size, and your personal draw rate. This allows you to tailor the vapors as you wish.
  • Do not block the air intake grills that surround the Heating Chamber on the sides of the Firefly. Blocking this area could cause restricted air intake and uneven heating.
  • You will definitely want an extra battery. Batteries don’t last forever, a fact of modern life that we all live with. With an extra battery, never lose ‘that moment‘ due to a depleted battery.
  • Use the included soft case at all times when transporting the Firefly. The ventilation holes at the front of the Firefly allow for alot of air movement, but in certain situations could allow small debris such as lint or sand and dust into the unit.
  • Avoid storing your Firefly in cold or below-freezing areas. This will cause the battery to deplete far faster than normal.

Firefly Cleaning & Maintenance

Keeping your vaporizer clean is the key to peak performance. The Firefly was designed with simplicity in mind, so its easy to clean. Removing the top lid to load or empty your aromatic blends also reveals the fully exposed air path, which makes maintenance a breeze.

Firefly has produced a handy visual cleaning guide, but we’ve expanded on some the main points in the guide:

  • With the lid removed, use the Firefly cleaning kit, (included with Firefly Purchase or available separately) or isopropyl alcohol to clean the exposed air path
  • Use the included brush to periodically clean the screen, keeping it free of debris. The The Firefly is a convection vaporizer; it’s warm air rises from holes in the bottom, keeping screen clean ensures the warm air flows freely.
  • Use the stir tool in combination with the cleaning pads to clear debris from the vapor channels in the lid. This is especially important in the area around the window, where the 12 short grooves radiate from the glass window. Keep this area clean at all times.
  • The screen should not need to be replaced, but if for some reason you need to, extras are included in the cleaning kit. To replace, first remove the lid, and clean the heating chamber thoroughly BEFORE you remove the screen. Once the screen is removed, debris can call into the Firefly unit, and that should be avoided. Once clean, Easy to replace
  • Clean the Firefly only when it has had a chance to completely cool down.
  • Do not submerge the Firefly chassis in liquid of any kind.
  • Use only Firefly cleaning implements. Owners who opt for isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs run the risk of letting liquid enter the Firefly Chassis.
  • Ensure the battery is full seated in its comparment and also keep the battery terminals clean and free of any debris using the included brush.

Need Assistance with your Firefly?

Try these Solutions to common issues:

A: Ensure the Firefly power switch is turned on, and the green LED is illuminated. If you turn the Firefly on and the light does not come on, the battery is depleted and needs recharging. Check the battery terminals and terminal receptors on the Firefly ensure these are always free from debris.
A: There are many variables at play here. The consistency of the grind of your aromatic blend, the amount of blend in the heating chamber, how evenly the chamber is loaded…A good baseline to start with is the Following:

  • Check to ensure that the lid is seated on the chassis properly. When seated properly, the gasket in the lid seals perfectly. If it isn’t seated properly, it essentially opens up the airpath to fresh air and prevents the flow from traveling through the heating chamber. The lid sitting properly on the chassis is essential to the function of the Firefly.
  • A consistent grind (all ground particles are of roughly the same size)
  • A medium-level grind, as opposed to a fine grind. Think freshly cracked pepper, vs finely ground pepper. It is recommended to break your blends up by hand. Most grinders will create too fine a grind for the Firefly.
  • A full heating chamber, but not loaded tightly. Don’t fill it past the top of the glass, and then lightly tamp it down to be level.
  • Vary your draw rate: its possible you are inhaling too hard or too fast. Slow down a bit, and see if the vapor qualities change.
  • A full heating chamber, but not loaded tightly.
A: It is entirely possible, but completely avoidable. Avoid finely ground blends for this reason.
A: The Firefly does not function as needed when plugged in. If you ever find yourself in this situation, all you need is anextra battery
A: The lid is held on by strong magnets; there is an indentation in the lid that allows you to easily pry it open. It is possible however, that Firefly’s that are not cleaned regularly might collect sticky build up over time, causing the Lid to stick to the chassis when the Firefly is either cold or near room temperature. Put the Firefly in a warm place for a few minutes, a pocket will do just fine, and when the unit has warmed up the lid should release more easily.
