Using Your Cowboy

A: As with most pen vaporizers, the Cowboy is super easy to use, and the Cowboy has a unique design that makes it more comfortable to hold. Refer to the full instructions located on the ‘User Guide’ tab, but here is a quick rundown on using the Cowboy:

Charge the Cowboy – This could take a few hours the first time, but subsequent charges should not take longer than 45-60 minutes.

Load the Cowboy – Loading the tank is easily done by removing the tank from the Cowboy connector, then unscrewing the atomizer from the tank. Keep the tank vertical as you unscrew it, this minimizes the risk of spillage. With the atomizer removed from the tank, fill the tank with your liquid, making sure not to allow any liquid into the center tube. Stop filling before the liquid overflows into the center tube. After you replace the atomizer and then replace the tank to the Cowboy, make sure the wick is fully saturated. Avoid ‘dry firing’ by pressing the power button for one second, which should create just enough heat to allow the liquid to fully saturate the wick, then use as normal.

Power up and draw – If the switch on the Cowboy is locked, unlock by pressing the button five times. This enables the power switch and the Cowboy is ready to use. Press the button and immediately begin drawing from the Cowboy. Draw until you have had your fill, or the ten-second shut off turns the atomizer off.

A: The Cowboy heats up instantly. With a powerful 390mAh Li-Ion battery, the Cowboy heats up fast.
A: There are no temperature settings on the Cowboy. It goes from room temperature to its peak temperature in just one second.
A: First and foremost its vital that you use the cleanest and purest liquids you can find. The Cowboy was designed for use with liquids that vaporize cleanly and leave no particulate behind.

Since the Cowboy has only one temperature setting, its essentially foolproof. Press the button, and draw until you have your fill or until the Cowboy shuts off automatically after 10 seconds.

A: The Cowboy was designed solely for liquids.

Do not put aromatic blends or solid concentrates that melt into the atomizer included with the the Cowboy. QuickDraw makes other models for these substances, the X2 and the M1.

A: The charger is rated from 100v to 240v, but you might need an adapter for your outlet if outside North America. USB option is always available, negating the need for AC adapters, regardless of your location.

A: The atomizer coil is nickel/aluminum-alloy, the wick is fiberglass, the crucible that surrounds the coil is ceramic, the body is made of steel.
A: Nichrome. Nichrome is a non-magnetic alloy of nickel, chromium, and often iron, usually used as a resistance wire in applications from atomizer coils to toasters and beyond.
A: Liquids and concentrates love high temperatures, so you should not have an overheating issue!
A: Is best to not fill the tank pas the level of the center tube. The Cowboy was designed to hold 2.4ml.
A: Yes, after ten seconds of use, the Cowboy will power off.

There is also a safety on the power switch, clicking it five times turns off the power button, and repeating this turns the button back on. This is great if you have the Cowboy in your purse, or pocket, as it prevents it from going off accidentally and wasting your battery or worse.

As a general safety rule, do not leave the Cowboy unattended while powered on.

A: There are no screens in the Cowboy.
A: The battery is a 390mAh barrel eGo ‘style’ battery. It has 510, and eGo threads.
A: The Cowboy comes with an AC adapter/USB plug, rated from 100v to 240v. The USB plug can be used by itself in a powered USB port anywhere in the world, but if you are charging your Cowboy outside of North America with the included AC adapter an outlet/plug adapter might be needed.
A: When the Cowboy Battery is in need of a charge, the power button will flash 3 times when pressed.

At this time, connect the Cowboy Battery to the Cowboy Wired USB Charger (at the base of the Cowboy Battery). The Cowboy Wired USB Charger can be connected to either the Wall Adapter or any compatible USB port. A red LED light will illuminate at the base of the battery to indicate that a charge is being administered.

Once the red LED light turns green, the Cowboy Battery has been fully charged.

A: According to QuickDraw, allow 3-4 hours charging time for the first 3-4 cycles. Then, it should only take about one hour to charge, depending on your charging source.

Cleaning & Maintenance

A: Any liquid that may have spilled out or collected on the body of your Cowboy can be removed with a warm damp cloth.

Within the crucible of your Cowboy tank, the coil works to clean itself by burning off any residue that comes in contact with it. We don’t recommend using any type of liquid cleaning agent in the Cowboy tank, as doing so could cause it to malfunction. If you are having issues with the atomizer, namely a distinct taste change, please replace. Atomizers do not last more than 4-5 weeks with normal use. Your experience will vary.

The mouthpiece can be soaked in isopropyl alcohol until the buildup dissolves. Do not clean the rubber or silicone o-rings with alcohol, as it could damage the rubber. Remove o-ring with a non-sharp tool(toothpicks work well) then use warm soap and water to clean.

Monitor and replace atomizer as needed. Check your vape each time you use it, it will tell you how often it needs to be cleaned.
A: Cleaning the atomizer is not recommended, replace as needed.

Make sure you don’t expose the atomizer or battery to any cleaning liquids whatsoever. If you need to clean the outside of the Cowboy, use a warm damp cloth. If the Cowboy gets wet in any way, allow to dry in the sun or a warm dry area until COMPLETELY DRY. Attempting to use the Cowboy if wet will cause serious damage to the unit.

A: The atomizer should be replaced as needed on the Cowboy. Over time even the purest liquids will allow buildup to collect on the Atomizer coil; replace as needed.

Atomizers will last 4-5 weeks with normal use. Your experience will vary.

Getting the Most Out of Your Cowboy

  • Do not allow liquid into the center tube of the clearomizer when filling.
  • Drawing after the heater has cooled down will allow the air vents to stay free of blockage.
  • Never leave a Cowboy in a hot car.
  • Allowing the Cowboy to freeze can damage the atomizer. Avoid temperatures below 40 degrees.
  • If flying with your E-Pen, make sure to empty your clearomizer before you fly, this will help prevent leakage that can occur with drastic pressure changes.

Cowboy Maintenance

Cleaning the Cowboy couldn’t be easier. Use the atomizer until the taste suddenly changes, then replace or rebuild.

Atomizers will last 4-5 weeks with normal use; your experience will vary.

The inside of the mouthpiece will take on the most buildup, soak it in isopropyl alcohol and clean with a cottonswab if needed.

If any concentrate has made it onto the body of the Cowboy, wipe off with a warm damp cloth.

Need Assistance with your Cowboy?

Try these Solutions to common issues:

A: A few things could be causing this. Is the 5-click safety lock in place? Try clicking your Cowboy button five times and see if anything happens.

Are you getting any light at all from the button? If not, make sure that its charged properly. This seems obvious, until you realize the power strip you were plugged into wasn’t turned on. Or…the USB port you were plugged into wasn’t actually a powered USB port. Or…there are many reasons to think your vaporizer is charging…when it isn’t. It happens all the time.

If you have charged it fully and unlocked the power button, and are still getting no vapors, remove the mouthpiece, press the button, and see if the atomizer is at least getting warm?

If you have no activity from a fully charged Cowboy, its possible that your atomizer has died.

A: Make sure your Cowboy is fully charged, and the atomizer coil is fully seated and loaded properly(not overloaded).
A: When you are loading or unloading the holster, remove the mouthpeice first, and you should have no problems getting it to fit. Make sure the clearomizer is fully seated and sealed before you put the holster on.
A: The atomizers will last 4-5 weeks with normal use, although your experience will vary. Replace your atomizer when you feel it needs it. Taste will be your first indicator the atomizer has died.
